โฆ Synopsis
An infrared photochemical reaction of CzF,Cl induced by a TEA CO? hser was observed. &lain reaction products were C2F, and ClFC=CFCI(tzrcns). bemg quite different from those obtained by thermal or ultraviolet photochemical reactions.

In this work we studied the collinear F(\*P,$ + Hz system in a strong CO2 laser field. It was found that the tiajecror) surface hopping method (TSHM) yields entirely different results than the exact quantum-mechanical treatment. A curvecrossing model was devised to esplain the discrepancy.
The radiative lifetimes of C$(A'II,, v'= 0 and 3) were determined by laser-induced fluorescence to be re(0) = 18.5 f 3 and ~(3)=11.4rt:2 cs. In addition, the lifetimes of C2(d311,, u'= 0 and 1) were measured as re =106+15 ns and 105+15 ns, respectiveiy. The error is 30.
