## Abstract This paper is concerned with selection and design of an antenna element of a phased array antenna for 20 GHz communications satellite. For this purpose, a new type of dualβmode horn with inner choke ring at the excitation region is proposed. Also, measured results compared with predicte

Abstract
Phased addition of currents from multiple dipole antennas is demonstrated for the first time at a wavelength of 10.6 ΞΌm. Coplanar strip lines are used to interconnect the antennas, preserving the phase of the individual infraredβfrequency currents, which are summed together at a common bolometric load. Angular pattern measurements on twoβelement dipole arrays show that the direction of maximum response depends on the phase difference between the currents contributed from each antenna, evaluated at the bolometer location. As more antennas are added together in phase, beam narrowing is observed. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this article, a new trueβtimeβdelay photonic system is presented that drives a phased array antenna for beam steering and beamforming. It is optimized to use the least possible number of components and utilizes a very simple operation. It is tolerable in small differences of the exci

Uncooled bolometric detectors used in infrared-imaging systems have slow time constants (Ο³15 ms), which makes them impractical for fast-frame-rate applications. Antenna-coupled microbolometers are fast uncooled detectors with good sensitivity and directivity, and they can be polarization and wavelen
