Abstract
A linear relationship has been found between the intensity of the infrared absorption of the BβO stretching vibration in borate ester wax and the hydroxyl number of the hydrolised wax, offering a rapid analytical method for reaction control. Different linear correlations found for different reaction conditions due to different borate structures and the application to onβline control are discussed.
