โœฆ Synopsis

The pulse discharge modulation method has been examined by observing the infrared diode laser spectrum of "BF_ The spectrum can be observed even when the liretime is a few hundred miaoseconds and when it is seriously overlapped by the absorption of the parent species. An analysis of the spectrum leads to the molecular constants of l' BF and to re(BF) = l-26280(5)

The IR spectrum of the transient species HBO was observed in the gas phase using a discharge modulation method. The HBO molecule is formed in an ac discharge plasma of a BzH6/02 or BzHe/NO mixture. The vJ band origin and the rotational constants of H"B0 were determined to be uo = 1825.5610 cm -l, BO

The reaction CHs+NO (+M) +CH,NO (+M) was initiated by pulse radiolysis of acetone/nitric oxide mixtures and the kinetics of methyl radicals was studied by time-resolved infrared absorption spectroscopy. The rate constant was found to be strongly pressure dependent in the range of p( M ) =6.5-150 mba
