✦ Synopsis


Almtract--The silicone elastomers used in a controlled release system, must have good mechanical properties. For this reason, they are often loaded with silica, which gives them those properties. The unbranched free chains present in the network can also influence the diffusion of a solute molecule. The effects on the progesterone diffusion coefficient either by the amount of silica incorporated in the silicone elastomers or by the concentration of free molecules have been examined by a radiolabelled tracer diffusion method in a continuous medium.
