A novel experimental technique for the measurement of the nonlinear refractive index coefficient, n 2 , based on the detection of self-phase modulation phase shift by means of an all-fiber Sagnac interferometer, is proposed. Measurements performed on dispersion-shifted fibers clearly indicate that t
