Abstract

The problem is dealt with in terms of two models: (1) Metal surface with curved elements of the same metal protruding therefrom, these elements acting as anodes and the potential distribution being a function of the regularity of the curvature (semi‐spherical, semi‐ellipsoidal); (2) this model corresponds e. g. to the surface state produced by grinding: alternating cylindrical elevations and depressions, the first acting as anodes, the last as cathodes. In this case a two‐dimensional potential and current density distribution must be evaluated.
