β¦ Synopsis
intersections when the values of (B) and (\alpha^{\prime}) are higher than 1 , i.e. when the deactivation is so
high that the functional availability of the reactor volume is not completely achieved.
The maximum values of (z_{A P} / z_{A M}) for (B) and (\alpha^{\prime}) less than 1 are approximately located in the range of (k_{0} \tau_{L}) from 1 to 2 . This result shows the different role of the operating parameters on the two models. The main result from Figs. (1 c) and (2 c) is that the knowledge of the solids R.T.D.F. is relevant in the design of fluidized bed reactors with a continuous solids feed: actually, variations up to (30 %) in the conversion degree may be expected because of the solids-1iquid backmixing.
