β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The magnetite nanoparticles were synthesized by different reaction conditions. The growth process of nanoparticles and influence of synthetic conditions on the particles were studied. The results show that an enough reaction time is necessary to ripen nanoparticles. However, the overβlong time leads to the deterioration of size distribution. The lower decomposition temperature is harm to size distribution. The ratio of surfactant to precursor is important for controlling nanoparticles. To attain uniform large nanoparticles, a twoβstep method is reasonable method. The large iron oxide nanoparticles (up to 25 nm without agglomeration) can be produced by this method. In order to develop thin-walled superparamagnetic nanoparticle suspensions as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, phosphorylcholine PC was used to coat iron oxide cores of 5 nm. Weak stable positively charged suspensions can be obtained at concentration greater than 3 mmol.l-1 (correspo
