The topic ªMaterials for temperatures above 1500 8C in oxidizing atmospheresº is discussed in a 3 part publication. In the first part a literature survey had been performed leading to the conclusion that either particle or fiber reinforced MoSi 2 -based materials or RSiC coated with a MoSi 2 -based
