✦ Synopsis

Ah&met-The method of positron annihilation was used to study changes of free volume in polycarbonate. Annealing at 180°C and pressure 808 MPa causes significant changes of free volume (-23%) compared to nonannealed polycarbonate. The free volume compressibility was estimated to be -3.10-' MPa-'. The distribution of free volume has changed. This work discusses the influence of free volume on molecular dynamics and the transportation mechanism of free radical decay.

The o-Ps lifetime 3 and the intensity I 3 of ST-AN copolymers and ST-MMA copolymers have been determined by using the positron annihilation technique. The average free volume hole radius R is estimated according to Tao's and Eldrup's model. The result shows that the average free volume hole size mai
