The influence of counterion radius on the polyelectrolyte behavior of poly-kcysteate in aqiieous solution under different conditions was investigated. A h e a r relationship was found between a critical concentration in solution of the synthetic charged polypeptide and the crystallographic radius of different counterions, indicating that the stability of this macromolecule is inversely proportional to the size of the cations.

The G-F transformation of actin was studied in terms of a n interaction between different counterions and actin niacroion by means of electrometric measurements. Due to the polyelectrolyte structure of the actin molecule, the electrostatic interactions must play a predominant role. In this sense the
