Generally the term step is used in d.c. polarography, while the term wave is used in a.c. polarography. In those cases when the course of the polarographic curve is more complex, the shape of the polaro~ram is described in detail in order to avoid any confusion• * The ratio l.'h ~ is independent of h ~ or decreases slightly with increasing h ½ if currents are dil-l1 fusion-controlled .
