Experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of mammalian hypophysial hormones, placental gonadotrophins, gonadal hormones, and adrenal corticosteroids on ovulation and spawning in three-day hypophysectomized gravid catfish. Of the hypophysial hormones tested (FSH, LH, LtH, STH, TSH, ACTH, and
