## Abstract Several substrates are available __in vivo__ for oxidation by the myocardium. Although substrate selection has been studied extensively in normoxic myocardium, relatively little is known about substrate preference very early during reperfusion after ischemia. Carbonβ13 isotopomer analys
Early graft dysfunction after lung transplantation is a significant and unpredictable problem. Our study aimed at a detailed investigation of structure-function correlations in a rat isolated heart-lung model of ischemia/ reperfusion injury. Variable degrees of injury were induced by preservation w
## Abstract The effect of ischemia and reperfusion on transverse relax ation (__T__~2~) of intracellular Na^+^ (Na^+^~i~) was measured with 5βmin time resolution in isolated rat hearts. Na~i~ __T__~2~ relaxation was biexponential with 28 Β± 7% fast (T~2f~)and 72 Β± 7% slow (__T__~2s~) decay. This rat
