A molecular dynamics simulation of TIP4P water at T=280 K has been performed to calculate the depolarized and isotropic Raman spectra in the translational and librational region. Comparison of the isotropic spectra with experiment confirms the assignment of the low-frequency scattered light to colli

โฆ Synopsis
Rayleigh spectra of water vapour along the liquid-vapour coexistence curve are investigated. It is shown that the band observed at low frequency (O-70 cm-' ) is caused by induced effects. Dipole-induced-dipole (DID) contributions are evaluated in the low-density limit and compared with experimental data.
