✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Carbon‐13 NMR imaging has been combined with ^1^H‐^13^C polarization transfer to improve image quality. Natural‐abundance carbon images of Fischer rat bodies were obtained within a few minutes. Next ^13^C‐labeled glucose was administered orally to rats, and spatial distributions of glucose and its derivatives were observed with this technique. © 1990 Academic Press, Inc.

High nuclear spin polarization of (13)C was reached in organic molecules. Enhancements of up to 10(4), compared to thermal polarization at 1.5 T, were achieved using the parahydrogen-induced polarization technique in combination with a field cycling method. ## Abstract The anticancer agent temozolomide labeled with ^13^C (8‐Carbamoyl‐3‐13C‐methylimidazo‐[5,1‐d]‐1,2,3,5‐tetrazin‐4‐(3H)‐one), was noninvasively detected in subcutaneous RIF‐1 tumors by a selective cross polarization ^13^C NMR method, at a field strength of 9.4T. Pharmacokinetics of the dr
