Abstract

Practicable syntheses of 1‐amino‐ and 1:3‐diamino‐phenazines are described for the first time. These substances (and a byproduct, 1‐hydroxyphenazine) thus become relatively accessible and may prove of interest as redox indicators or as material for further syntheses.
