## Abstract The design and development of a wideband dual polarized planar array antenna of 3 Γ 6 elements in C band is presented. The center frequency is 5.3 GHz. The single radiating element used in the array configuration is of stacked SSFIP. The antenna has been developed for beam pointing of 1

β¦ Synopsis
A method is described for the synthesis of planar array antenna patterns where both the configuration and the excitation of each radiating element is detemined from the desired contour, ripple, and side lobes of controlled height. The method is based on a repetitive optimization procedure that obtains a vely significant reduction in the number of elements that are excited, establishing a marked improvement with respect to the corresponding techniques described in the prior literature.

## Abstract It is shown that the optimized Yagi elements in planar arrays provide flatβtopped radiation patterns of good quality in the limitedβscan E plane. Better wideβangle scan performance is found for a triangular lattice than for a rectangular one in the H plane, where the sharp dips in the e
The expressions obtained in the previous paper for electrode polarization are applied to a homogeneous planar electrode and a planar array of electrodes used in the generation of nonuniform fields. The effective far field experienced outside the double layer is computed for both electrodes, and samp
