✦ Synopsis

tocopherol is much less abundant in the mass spectrum of the ozone-fumigated leaf indicating consumption of the antioxidant by the ozone-induced hydroxyl radicals. These preliminary results demonstrate that Py-FIMS is a promising method for revealing multiple damage in plant tissue due to environmental pollution. The next steps are to find relevant key substances in plant tissues damaged by sulfur dioxide, other xenobiotica, and acidic precipitation under defined conditions [23]. Then the comparison with forest plant material grown at natural sites should make it possible to discern the real damage mechanisms. Certainly an integrated approach applying chemometric methods on Py-FI mass spectra and supplementary data is required [10].

## Abstract The amount of maternal RNA in the oocytes of several mammalian (mouse, rabbit, cow, pig, sheep) and avian (hen, Japanese quail, guinea hen, turkey) species was determined. For mammals these were in the range of 0.47 ng/oocyte (mouse) to 0.98 ng/oocyte (cow), with the exception of the ra
