In the title compound, C 14 H 19 N 3 O, intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds form an infinite chain along the a axis. Electron delocalizition affects the C-N bonds.

In the title compound (satranidazole), C 8 H 11 N 5 O 5 S, the dihedral angle between the mean plane of the imidazolidine and imidazole rings is 49.0 (2) . In the solid state, the imidazole rings of the glide-related molecules are stacked along the a axis, with signi®cant %±% interactions. The cryst
