The pharmacological activities were screened of aqueous extracts of Ocimum gratissimum in isolated rabbit jejunum (IRJ); rat stomach strip (RSS); and also its analgesic properties in mice. The extract caused a dose dependent inhibition of the rabbit jejunum spontaneous pendular movement. The blocki
