✦ Synopsis


A novel organic -inorganic hybrid vanadate complex [{Zn(2,2 0 -bpy)} 2 V 8 O 21 ] 1 (2,2 0 -bpy ¼ 2,2 0 -bipyridine) was synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of V 2 O 5 , ZnCl 2 , 2,2 0 -bpy and water. Its structure was determined by elemental analyses, XPS spectra, TG analysis, IR spectrum and the single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
