✦ Synopsis
A unique composite hybrid material [Cu 4 (bpy) 4 (H 2 O) 2 (PO 4 ) 2 ](H 3 O)[PMo 12 O 40 ] 1 (bpyZ2, 2 0 -bipyridine) has been hydrothermally synthesized from the reaction of Na 2 MoO 4 $2H 2 O, H 3 PO 4 , Cu(MeCO 2 ) 2 $H 2 O, 2, 2 0 -bpy and water. It has been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is constructed from the organic-inorganic hybrid [Cu 4 (bpy) 4 (H 2 O) 2 (PO 4 ) 2 ] 2C cation and a-Keggin [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3K polyoxoanion, which represents the first example of a hybrid material that combines transition metal phosphate and polyoxometalate.
