β¦ Synopsis
An investigation of the feasibility of forming dense cylinders from amorphous Fes2B~2Si~, and UToCr~, , platelets using a combination of die compaction and hydrostatic extrusion is described. Densities of up to 84% and 87% of the theoretical value where realized in one pass using an extrusion ratio of 1.6 for the iron and uranium alloys, respectively. Equations are presented for consolidation and extrusion parameters.

The hydrostatic extrusion of polyethylene filled with hydroxyapatite has been studied. It is shown that the extrusion behavior is qualitatively similar to that of unfilled polymer. Extruded products with flexural moduli of at least 10 GPa and flexural strengths of 90 MPa have been produced, which ca
