## Abstract We report herein the kinetic studies on hydrolysis of three cyanopyridines in high‐temperature water. 3‐Cyanopyridine, 4‐cyanopyridine and 2‐cyanopyridine underwent consecutive hydrolysis to the corresponding pyridinecarboxamides and picolinic acids. Further decarboxylation to pyridine
