β¦ Synopsis
The normal state thermoelectric power and resistivity of SmBa2Cu306.92_xHy have been examined in the ranges x=0-0.085 and y=0--0.25. The same effect of hydrogenation and deoxygenation on the thermopower and different ones on the resistivity have been observed. That difference is ascribed to a composition difference between minority intergrain and majority grain areas.
The universality of the thermopower behavior of SmBa2Cu306.92_xHy iS also discussed.

Measurements of the thermoelectric power in polycrystalline samples of YBa2Cu3OT-6 prepared by annealing and quenching from different temperatures are reported. The thermoelectric power is found to be very sensitive to changing from values of 2 VK -I at 80OK, to values higher by more than one order
