✦ Synopsis
Measurements of the thermoelectric power in polycrystalline samples of YBa2Cu3OT-6 prepared by annealing and quenching from different temperatures are reported.
The thermoelectric power is found to be very sensitive to changing from values of 2 VK -I at 80OK, to values higher by more than one order of magnitude.
The sensitive dependence of the thermopower on the oxygen content can account for the large diversity of results reported in the literature.
