Proton-exchange membranes were synthesised by electron beam irradiation of poly(vinylidenefluoride) (PVDF) films (80 mm) followed by styrene graft polymerisation and sulfonation. Physical and electrochemical properties of the membranes were investigated. The membranes were tested as electrolytes in
