## Abstract Dimethylpyridines undergo deuteriumβhydrogen exchange when heated in deuterium oxide containing potassium carbonate at ring positions 2 and 6 when these positions are unsubstituted and at methyl groups located at ring positions 2,4, and 6 exclusively.
