This report describes our efforts to analyze cement pastes for triethanolamine. This analysis can be efficiently accomplished after short hydration times (ca. 3 min. ) by gas chromatography or infrared spectroscopy. Only trace amounts of the amine are detected, however, after 24 hours of hydration.

Triethanolamine (TEA) in hardened cement paste has been analyzed by infrared spectrophotometry. The technique is sensitive for the qualitative detection of small amounts of TEA. However, the percent recovery is very much concentration dependent and, until the reproducibility of the method has been
A new analysis method for the quantitative determination of triethanolamine (TEA) in the aqueous phase of cements was developed. TEA was converted into the TEA-Fe 3+ complex by treating it with IM NaOH and 10% Fe 3+ solutions. This method was based on the determination of the TEA-Fe 3+ complex by po
Hydration of portland cement blended with granulated blast furnace slag and rice husk ash in presence of bag house dust has been studied by measuring non-evaporable water contents, heat of hydration and compressive strengths. Analysis of liquid phase for Ca" ion estimations has been made. Hydration
