## Abstract Factors contributing to peak broadening, accuracy and precision in mass assignment in the matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization characterization of a lipopeptide desorbed from intact __Bacillus__ spores were investigated. These spores were studied as an example of a thick, topolog
