Triatomic van der Waals complexes of mercury have been observed in a supersonic expansion beam crossed with a laser beam to produce excitation and fluorescence spectra. The expansion beam consisting of mercury and a (noble) carrier gas (RG) was excited in three separate spectral regions: in the vici

β¦ Synopsis
The fluorescence excitation spectrum and Ikoresccnce spectra from 25 different vibrational ievels of the St state of 1,4dihydrosyanthraquinone were measured. From these spectrc, the frequencies of non-totally symmetric vibrations in the Su state were deduced. Strong mhing of normal coordinates under electronic escitation was observed_ Strong anharmonicity of vibrations of the hydrogen bond was evidenced by pronounced Fermi resonance as loo as 590 cm-l above the O-O energy and involving levels more rh-dn 10 cm-' apart.

Optogalvanic spectra have been obtained arising from transitions between electronically excited states of excimers formed in adc discharge with supersonic expansion. In this method, tunable cw laser radiation is incident on the discharge while optogalvanic signals are measured directly across the di
