✦ Synopsis
The b 4 2-~ a 4 Hi bands of nitric oxide in the photographic infrared have been reinvestigated, using high-resolution emission spectra of very low rotational temperature obtained in a discharge through supersonically expanding mixtures of He and NO. An unambiguous analysis of four bands has been achieved. Similar experiments with Ar + ND 3 result in low-temperature emission spectra of the Schtiler band of ND 4 at 6749 A.
