✦ Synopsis

We have designed and constructed a negative ion threshold photodetachment spectrometer with 3 cm-' (0.37 meV) resolution. Threshold photodetachment spectra of I-and SH-have been obtained. For SH-. individual rotational transitions between the ion and neutral appear as clearly resolved peaks.

Rovibrational spectra of Hz, HN:, and H30+ generated in discharge jet-expansion have been studied using a differencefrequency infrared source, The rotational temperatures were determined to be 120 i 20,273 + 20 and 150 -f: 20 K for H: , HN$ , and HsO+, respectively. Some dynamic phenomena of the jet
