โฆ Synopsis
The WC 2 gene from Saccharomyces cerevisiae coding for the enzyme lnvertase was cloned in Hansenula polymorpha under the control of the alcohol-oxidase (AOX) promoter of Pichia pastoris. The culture conditions for the Inve,$ase production using a fed-batch culture were studied. More than I,5 x 10 U/ml of lnvertase (1 g/L) were found to be secreted to cellular periplasmic space. The scale up to 50 L of the fermentative process was done.

This has been achieved using random integration of immunoglobulin genes co-linked with a drug-resistance gene into cellular DNA. After gene integration, increases in i
PEX3 encodes a 52 kDa peroxisomal membrane protein (PMP), essential for peroxisome biogenesis in the yeast Hansenula polymorpha. The relation between Pex3p levels and peroxisome formation was studied in wild type (WT) and pex3 strains expressing additional copies of PEX3 under control of a substrate
