Peaks at high redshifts in individual samples of quasars can be explained as due to selection effects. It is concluded that peaks in quasar redshift distribution do not obey any general formula that can constitute a periodicity, even though individual samples may favour some redshifts of smaller val
z < 0.41 and the 1.69 < z < 2.09 interval1 which contain only 29% of the "radio" QSO's. As remarked by D. WILLS and R. L. RICKLEFS, it is thus dangerous to mix both samples for common statistical analysis. It is also important t o analyse separately the possible incidence '3f each selectional effect
