## High-energy collision-induced dissociation (CID) experiments on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs ) having 2-6 rings, naphthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, pyrene and coronene, were performed, and the relative abundances of their fragment ions were investigated as a function

โฆ Synopsis
The diffractive dissociation of a pion into five pions via A,p production is used to study the Drell-Hiida-Deck effect at very high energies. It is shown that the predicted cross section for diffractive dissociation violates unitarity, so that (absorptive) corrections must be taken into account.
