The a-subunit of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor is the major target of the autoimmune response in myasthenia gravis. We investigated the proliferative response of T cells from patients with myasthenia gravis and healthy volunteers to recombinant polypeptides of the human acetylcholine receptor
