DesignCentre range expanded
Hewtett-Packard's ME DesignCentre CAD range has been expanded by the addition of the HP ME Series 30. The Series 30 is a solid modelling design and drafting system.
According to Hewlett-Packard, the Series 30 adapts a 2D concept, the workplane, to locate geometry for the creation or modification of 3D models. 'Workplanes' are 2D drawing areas in 3D space. A 2D drawing on the workplane can be extruded into a 3D model.
The Series 30 allows up to 16 interactive viewports. Layouts can be transferred to an ME Series 10 or Series 5 systems where hatching, dimensions, text and symbols can be added to produce fully annotated engineering drawings.
The Series 30 system runs on the HP 9000 Series 300, 32-bit engineering workstations under the HP-UX operating system.
A single user ME series 30 system costs Β£45 000.
