✦ Synopsis

Abstract

High‐resolution computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have become indispensable tools for the evaluation of conditions involving the head and neck. Complex anatomic structures and regions, such as the orbit, skull base, paranasal sinuses, deep spaces of the neck, larynx, and lymph nodes, require that the radiologist be familiar with the imaging modalities available and their appropriate applications. The purpose of this article is to review the techniques of CT and MRI and the roles they play in clinical practice, including head and neck disorders. J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2007. Background. The detection of synchronous tumors, whether they be second primaries or distant metastases, in patients with head and neck carcinoma drastically affects prognosis and may alter management. Computerized tomographic (CT) scanning of the chest is an effective screening investigation in thi

## Abstract High‐resolution computed tomographic (CT) scanning and, more recently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have provided more accurate evaluation of the extent of head and neck neoplasms. With increasing experience, better methodology is being developed to improve imaging accuracy. We pres

## Abstract Between 1980 and 1990, 150 patients with cervicofacial vascular malformations were studied at the authors' institution with computed tomography, plain radiography, and angiography. Since 1989, 34 of these patients have also undergone magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Capillary‐venous hem

## Abstract ## Background Despite widespread use, the utility of pretreatment positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) remains undefined. In this study, we aim to determine its accuracy in nodal disease. ## Methods In all, 111 patients managed between 2003 and 2007 were analyzed
