β¦ Synopsis
A method describing the hardening law of a cyclic hardening metal is proposed. The variation of stress-strain relation with cyclic ratio N/N, due to cyclic hardening of a metal under different load levels is described by a new parameter H. The critical value H, at fatigue failure depends upon the load level. Using a normalized cyclic hardening parameter, a fatigue damage model is then constructed. Two level tests show that the fatigue model is acceptable and not sensitive to the change of the method describing the cyclic hardening law.
