✦ Synopsis

Reactions of ~,~-dichloropropionitrile with acrylic derivatives in the presence of CuaCI 2 gave a series of substituted 2,4-dichloro-and 2-chloro-5-oxoalkanonitriles. Their cyclization to chloropyridines has been studied.
