## Abstract The essential oil of aerial parts of __Micromeria fruticulosa__ (Lamiaceae) growing wild in Southern Italy was obtained by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GC–MS. Sixty‐one compounds, representing 91.3% of the oil, were identified. The major components were __Ξ³__‐terpinene (14.5
