We report on the growth of PrBa2Cu307, 5 single crystals in the AI203 and ZrO 2 crucibles by flux method. The high influence of the reaction between crucible and liquid on the initial melt composition has been established. We found that the precipitation of the chemically stable compound BaZrO 3 and

We aimed to find the correlation between the structure of YBCO single crystals with their high Jc values (-105 A/cm2 at 77 K, zero magnetic field). The most remarkable feature which belongs to high-Jc crystals was found to be the presence of spirals on their surface. Detailed examination of the ion-

YBazCu307-6 single crystals of mm size were grown by two different methods, one involving solid state reaction, the other flux growth. Examination of magnetic behaviour of the crystals indicates critical currents of about I0 ~ A/cm 2.
