✦ Synopsis

Mathematical grey interrelation analysis method was used to study the correlation of alloy elements and low steel corrosion in the splash zone. Eighteen kinds of low alloy steels were selected for 350-day experiments in a large marine corrosion environment simulating apparatus. The analysis results showed that the correlation of alloy elements and alloy corrosion rate is in the order: MnbSibPbVbCubAlbCrbMo. The correlation degree was 0.92, 0.89, 0.86, 0.83, 0.82, 0.82, 0.81, 0.77.

## Abstract The low‐chromium steels (Cr content 0.7–1.4 wt.%) are usually being used in low temperature boiler applications where the environments are not so aggressive as in waste‐fire boilers. To improve their mechanical properties and corrosion resistance several alloying elements have been used
