โฆ Synopsis
Angeles (UCLA), from 24 to 28 July 1989. An exhibition, CRYO-EXPO '89, will take place from 25 to 27 July at the same location and will display the latest in cryogenic equipment and materials for use at cryogenic temperatures. UCLA is the host for this conference.
Southern California and Los Angeles have had a leading role in establishing science, engineering and industrial applications of cryogenics. In the 1960's highlights have been the Apollo moon flights. In the present decade, projects such as advanced plane developments, cryocoolers and recently discovered superconductors with high transition temperatures have created considerable excitement and renewed interest in cryogenics.
The technical programme for the joint conference has some 500 invited and contributed papers from many different countries_ Special emphasis is given, among others, to aerospace cryogenics, to superconductors with high transition temperature (T~) and traditional topics of CEC/ICMC. The four plenary sessions have the following titles and speakers:
