It is proved that the quantum mechanical Hamiltonian H = Cy=, (p' + n~\)l'~ -K ci>jlxi -xj(-r for bosons (resp. fermions) is bounded from below if N c;K-' (resp. N > c;K3'\).
The constants cD and CA (resp. c, and c;) differ by about a factor 2 (resp. 4).

A method of realizing unilateral constraints by introducing a small parameter into the kinetic energy, such that the kinetic energy of the system degenerates on a certain manifold in configuration space when the parameter is equal to zero, is considered. The behaviour of the system in the neighbourh
