A chelating polystyrene-divinylbenzene-based resin containing N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine as the chelating group was synthesized and characterized through its water regain capacity (0.56 g g-') and stability towards acids, alkalis, heat and y-radiation. The effective pH for use of the resin was 1.0
