Human plasma was made alkaline and extracted with methylene chloride. To the extract was added the internal standard, cinchonine, followed by evaporation to dryness. The resultant residue was dissolved in a methanolic solution containing trimethylanilinium hydroxide. This solution was assayed by GLC
